I am inspired by self portraits, but I cannot nail one for the life of me. And I don’t try them very often because I am not “portrait ready” in my everyday life. So I took a cue from my girl Natalie and tried one with little makeup & messy hair, straight from the gym. Liberation! This portrait is far from amazing, but at least I’ve got a jump off point to work from now.
Location: my kids’ bathroom. Ha!
More friends over, more friend pictures! Do little girls in princess dresses ever get old?
Oh don’t mind us…just some tots giving makeovers.
When your friend moves to Alabama, you make the trek across the state line for a play date. When you’re a photographer, you take photos of said play date. Here they are in all their rough, tumble & tiara’d glory. Such fun little girls!
Last summer, we moved just a few minutes away but into a new neighborhood outside downtown Nashville. It has been a full fledged love affair with Sylvan Park ever since. I’ve been a lifelong car addict, having to jump into the car to get just about anywhere (mostly by necessity). But not here. Not in good ol’ Sylvan Park. Within a 10 minute walk, I can get some hot chicken from Hattie B’s or tacos from The Local Taco, fresh produce from at the farmer’s market or The Produce Place, and donuts from the Vegan Vee. I can take a jog on the Greenway or check out a good book at the library. I can head on over to a friend’s house for a hang out if needed. Sigh. This place is lovely.
This week, we had one of those mornings in our neighborhood that was just so fun & simple. It is a morning I know I’ll think about when I’m shuffling kids to and from school, longing for the days we could pick how we’d spend them. We took a trip to Richland Park, hit up the library then snacked on some donuts. Sylvan Park, sweet treats & sweet moments. Perfection.
